Dreaming of the Duomo

So, it’s pretty much all downhill from here. As in, I don’t think I’ll ever have a more beautiful backdrop than this. I loved Rome, but seeing the Duomo in Florence literally took my breath away. It’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen and I was in complete awe every time we passed it. I mean, just look at it!

Normally, there are tons of people flocked outside the church… but not at 6 am. I dragged myself out of bed (and my husband, too) so that we could see the sight without anyone. There was the occasional tourist and some locals setting up their shops, but other than that, we had it completely to ourselves. SO magical.

Before leaving on vacation, I made a last-minute purchase from Shein (review to come!) and added this off-shoulder polka dot dress to my cart at the last second. I’m so glad I did! I love the fit and feel and it really looks much more expensive than it is. I love how flowy it is and I thought it was the perfect outfit to wear for our morning at the Duomo.

Since I didn’t bring many “extras” with me to Italy, I’m pretty much accessory-less, but my shoes were Steve Madden (I think) and about three sizes too small since I borrowed them from my sister-in-law. I may have walked back barefoot to our Airbnb…
