Five Faves

I’ve been loving a good lip lately and I’ve been gravitating towards five products for my pucker all spring long. Now that it’s summer, these five are still on rotation –and likely will be well into the fall and winter, too. Since I’m so obsessed, I figured I’d share the love on these lippies. Meet my five faves:

Revlon Colorburst in Adorned

Revlon Colorburst Adorned

I don’t wear this one often but man is it gorgeous. Adorned is a bright fuchsia pink with blue sparkle throughout, and it’s kinda perfect. With just one swipe my lips were opaque and it lasts pretty nicely, too. Plus you’re left with a pretty pink stain on your lips from wearing it all day, so even if it fades, you’re kinda covered. It’s a gloss, so yes, it’s going to be a little sticky. And scent wise, I mean, it’s not my favourite. I don’t know what they put in there, or didn’t, but it smells sort of chemical-y or plastic-y. But I can deal because THAT COLOUR. Pretty sure this was limited edition, but if you can still manage to get your hands on one of these, run and don’t walk to it.

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm in Coquette

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm Coquette

I’ve been loving these Revlon Lacquer Balms because they’re so easy to apply and go. Case in point: the photo above featuring Coquette, a pink shade that I think would look pretty good on most anyone, and is perfectly subtle to wear on the daily. I’m all about balms so this is right up my alley, and the line comes in 10 other shades so for those craving a little more punch to their pout, they’ve got you covered. Plus the site says these have shea, coconut and mango butters for hydration. Yum. Oh, oh! And it has a sweet minty scent, too! Application wise, I swiped this a couple of times over my lips to get this colour. It went on smooth and creamy, just what you’d expect from a balm. No complains here… I love this thing.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Sweet Tart

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter Sweet Tart

Ah, Sweet Tart. I bought this Lip Butter when Revlon first came out with the line and it was absolutely love at first swipe. I brought this thing with me everywhere, even to my Aruba vacation (*crying* take me back!) and remember applying it like cray. Seeing it so close to Coquette makes me realize how similar they are, but Sweet Tart’s a little brighter and more vibrant. Needless to say, I’m a fan. It just gives lips a nice pop of colour that isn’t too subtle or boring, and adds brightness to the face. I usually wear it when I want a little sum sum extra. It applies really well and has a very subtle, nice scent. Five stars for me!

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon

Revlon colorburst Lip Butter Wild Watermelon

After my complete adoration for Sweet Tart, I don’t know why it took me nearly a year to buy another one of Revlon’s Lip Butters. I picked up Wild Watermelon randomly one day at the drugstore, and like Sweet Tart, it was as perfect as can be. This one is a little bit more on the orange-red side, but it’s bright and beautiful on and has seriously been my go-to for weeks now. I usually don’t apply much of it to my lips, I sort of just dab it on and it gives this stain-like whisper of colour to my to my lips that I love. It applies super well and leaves your lips with some colour even after it’s been wiped away. Writing this is making me realizing I kind of need all the Revlon lip butters, like ASAP, because they’re honestly my favourite things ever.

Victorias Secret Color Lust Lip Lacquer in ?

Victorias Secret Color Lust Lip Lacquer

Okay, so this is the most random one of the bunch because it’s not Revlon. You know, I didn’t even plan to make this post 80% Revlon products, it’s seriously just what I always wear, with the exception of this beauty that I picked up while in New York City a couple of years ago. Sadly, I have no idea what the name is because it’s nowhere on the tube, and I’m not even sure Victoria’s Secret still has these in stock; I tried looking them up online with no dice. This gloss is a pretty bright pink with a subtle shimmer running throughout. It’s sticky, but I just deal because it’s so gorgeous. It has the typical lip gloss scent, which I’m down with and applies really nicely with a few swipes. This one is also something I’d wear when I want a brighter pop on my lips and face, because it’s noticeable, but it’s still pretty enough to wear nearly everyday.

So, what are your fave lippies at the moment? Have you tried any of the ones above? x
