fresh finds

Happy Friday, beauties! I wanted to start a series about new and noteworthy items I’m currently trying out. This may not be a weekly series, but every couple of weeks or so I’ll gather all-things new and post about them right here.

I figured I’d start this series off with some products I’ve been testing for a few weeks now. I was sent the For Beloved One Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Face Mask* and their Moisturizing Serum* and AlumierMD’s Alumience A.G.E Serum*. #spoiled

Let’s start with the face mask. I fully admit I’m not a connoisseur (this may have been only my second face mask –ever). I did like it though!  It made my skin super soft and smooth right after applying it, so no complaints there. Plus, it forced me to sit down and relax for twenty minutes, so win-win.

Onto the serums: I’ve been testing the AlumierMD one pretty religiously for around three weeks, and I love how it just sinks into my skin and feels weightless. The cool thing about this product: It’s formulated to help fight aging due to pollution and other environmental factors (so it’s perfect if you’re a city girl). I’ve been very lucky to have pretty good skin all my life and while the fine lines are starting to seep in with every passing birthday, I can’t say I noticed much of the anti-aging properties with this one (I was just told I look 16 last week, soooo, it’s either working miracles or I still have a baby  face). That being said, it has only been about three weeks, but I might pass this one to my mom and report back on her thoughts!

I’m really excited to try the FBO Serum that *apparently* regenerates collagen (I like the sound of that) and keeps skin supple. Yes, please! That’s next on my to try list.

Next up: Vita Liberata’s Trystal Pressed Self Tanning Bronzing Minerals* (these names are so long). I actually LOVE this brand because I’ve used their self tanners before (for my wedding actually!) and they make your skin look like it’s glowing from the inside. Since receiving this bronzer, it’s been my go-to in the mornings, because somehow, someway, I’m holding onto some colour from Italy. I love the shade of this bronzer, but, honestly, that’s about it… I find the texture is a little chalky and you really have to swirl a million times to pick up any product. If you’re in the market for a new bronzer, this would not be my first pick. But when it comes to self tanning, I can’t rave enough about Vita Liberata!

Last, but not least, is a product I’m sure 99.9% of you already know about. I’ve wanted to try Laura Mercier’s tinted moisturized literally for years now, but never did. So when my usual NARS ran out, I decided to pull the trigger. It’s very creamy and thick –definitely more of a moisturizer texture than a foundation texture, which makes complete sense.

The coverage is light but buildable, which is what I like for everyday.  I just find every skin product I use disappears by 2pm and I look like I have no makeup on, so still trying to find something that really lasts. Is it because I’m not using a primer? Either way, I’m glad I purchased this and that I’m giving it a try, but I’m still on the fence about whether or not I’d pick it up again.

Boy –this was long! I didn’t want to miss a beat with these new prods. Have you ever tried anything above? If so, let me know your thoughts! x

P.S.: Items with a * were graciously sent to me as PR samples, but all opinions are 100% honest, always.
