I posted these bad boys to Instagram the other day (are you following me?) and got such a good response! I mean, I knew they were super cute… just not that cute. But with over 230 likes, which is much more than I normally get, you guys were clearly as in love as me. So as promised, here’s my full post on this whitewash rainbow mani that’s so pastel-perfect for spring.
For this mani I used a white base (still on the hunt for the perfect white base. Any suggestions?) and then played around with OPI Sheer Tints, using all four colours. It really didn’t take much to make the colours meld together since they’re obviously super sheer. The only thing I really hate about these is that they’re a thick consistency and the polish always bubbles on me. They’re so thick, they remind me of maple syrup. And they already began to bubble the second I swiped them on. Can you tell in the photos? This was actually my second try at this mani because the first one was just too bubbly; no way that was getting on here! So anyway, I used extra thin swipes of polish for this look but it still bubbled a little, though much better than the first attempt. Apply really thin coats and let them dry well before going in with a second, if you plan on using these.
So now that that rant is over, I just swiped on the colours kind of randomly in vertical swipes up my nail and would overlap colours to get some green and orange tones. And this is what I ended up with! The top coat really did wonders in making it all look much more melded together and watercolour-like. I love these sheer tints for layering over each other (not so much over other colours) because the effect is just so dreamy and ethereal, no? I think so. :)
What do you think of this mani? Would you like a tutorial for this look? Let me know! x
