When I opened up a recent surprise package that came from Revlon (those are the best –thank you, Revlon!), I wasn’t most excited about the polishes (What’s wrong with me, I know! But those will be up Wednesday). Instead, I was kind of giddy over these new shades of Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick. A a nail gal, is that a bad thing? They were just so gorgeous sitting there with their pink jewel and berry-toned shades, I swatched them almost immediately and, I must say, I’m sort of in love. I don’t do much beauty here on Hello Glossy, but when a good thing comes around, I just have to share. As part of the new Fall/Winter Boho Chic collection by Gucci Westman for Revlon, these four new shades bring “instant moisture and all day colour with a modern matte finish.” It’s true. And at $13.59, you can’t really go wrong. But enough about all that, let’s get to the good stuff –swatches!
Ready to Wear
Ready to wear couldn’t have been named more perfectly because it’s one of those shades that you’ll be ready to wear, literally, at all times. Think your lips but better. This goes on light and adds just a hint of pink the lips, and is totally everyday-wearable.
For anyone who is dying to try berry lips but is totally intimidated to wear darker colours (me! me! me!), Wardrobe is so for you. It’s got just a hint of berry but is still light enough so that you won’t feel like your face is overwhelmed by your choice of lip colour. Because, really, sometimes I just feel silly wearing lipstick. Plus, how perf for fall? You know the answer to that.
I love this colour. Look how pretty it is! Plus that subtle sparkle is so nice on the lips. I love how all these shades are a modern matte… whatever that really means. I mean, they’re not so matte where you feel like the life has been sucked out of your lips and they’ve been transported to the Sahara Desert, but they’re also not super shiny, sticky and glossy. They’re kind of the perfect formula, really.
Boho Chic definitely wasn’t my favourite of the four new shades, but that’s not to say I didn’t like it. It reminds me of a burnt orange colour, and for my personal preference, I just don’t love the orange tones in this one. I think I have to wear it more; maybe it’ll grow on me (and I hope it does!) because this, surprise, surprise, is another perfect shade for the cool weather.
I was also sent Revlon’s ColorStay Lipliner in two new shades, Fuchsia and Soft Pink. I’m not usually one to wear lipliner, but that fuchsia shade was too pretty not to swatch. I skipped the soft pink one but if you guys really want a swatch, let me know.
Ouuuuuuu, right? All I did here was line and fill in my lips with this stuff, which naturally resulted in the driest lips I’ve ever had, so then I slapped on some good old Vaseline and voilà! Gorgeous.
So, what do you think of these new Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick shades? Oh! And how do you like these type of beauty posts? I’d love to know your opinion. P.S. Have you entered my giveaway yet? XO
