Divine with and without flash
Seductive
Rich
Elusive
I was recently sent some pretty polishes from Revlon’s latest collection (thank you, Revlon girls!), their Gucci Westman collaboration Evening Opulence shades. The collection also features some eye pallets and some truly killer lip glosses. I got Adorned, a super bright pink gloss that swatches identical to the bottle –and it’s a dream. But we’re so not here to talk lip gloss.
So, as for the the polishes, they all looked really pretty in their bottles. I initially thought I’d love Divine; when bottled it looks like a gorgeous burgundy with flashes of red shimmer throughout, but on the nail it looked more brown-copper to me, and just didn’t work with my skin tone. Still pretty, but not for my super-pale, dead of winter vampire skin. Ugh.
Seductive is a deep purple merlot color that’s nearly black. It’s definitely a two or more coater, as it has a sheer, jelly like consistency that needs to be built up. It’s really nice, but nothing to write home about, you know?
I wasn’t excited for Rich. I mean, it’s another metallic-like color and I don’t tend to fall head over heels for those. With that said, I ended up really liking it! I didn’t see it when it was in the bottle, but on my nail you can see almost a slight green undertone to the polish, which makes it a super unique color. Definitely one to pick up.
I was, naturally, most excited to try the glitter polish in this collection, Elusive. It looked to-die-for in the bottle. Deep teal glitters in a black base? Yes, please! Finally a shade that’s evening and opulent. So, I go to put it on and… it dries matte. I can safely say I was not expecting that given there’s zero indication on the bottle. At least make the glass frosted, am I right? Surprisingly, though, I think it kind of worked as a matte polish. I mean, everything’s better glossy (duh), but the green glitters looked really good against the matte black, so I don’t think they were insane for making it this way. But I obviously had to douse it in top coat and MY GOD IT’S BEAUTIFUL. I mean, my photo does it no justice. It’s like staring into a teal-starred galaxy. Tell me that’s not perfect. If you get one thing from this collection, let it be this polish (and that perfect pink lip gloss).
So, will any of you be buying some goodies from this collection? What did you think of the shades?
