The Rococo Era

IMG_4683 IMG_4669 Rococo Nail Apparel Boyfriend Luxe Rococo Nail Apparel Pop Polynesia Rococo Nail Apparel Sweet TabooHave you ever heard of Rococo Nail Apparel? They’re a super luxe, three-free polish brand founded in London… and just look at that packaging! All of their polish come placed in a chic black box designed with very ornate, Rococo-appropriate motifs. And they’re nearly too pretty to throw out. Plus, I got a crazy gorgeous glass nail file (as seen in my super blurry Instagram above) and a hydrating cuticle cream. ‘Twas an awesome nail mail day, if I do say so myself.

As for the colours, I received Boyfriend Luxe, Pop Polynesia, Sweet Taboo (in that order above) and Flossy Sheer Gloss, which isn’t pictured because I just didn’t like it over any of these colours, but I think would look amazing over black. All three swatched shades were the exact same in formula; a little more on the thick side but generally easy to apply. I had some problems with the brush when it came to my cuticle area because I just find it either didn’t get close enough or I couldn’t avoid getting it on my skin, know what I mean? And each shade was a little streaky with coat one, but evened out with a second to make for a nice finish, sans top coat.

I have to say, I like there polishes, but I don’t love these polishes. Their packaging is literally spot on… so super chic and nice to see when it comes to lacquer, but formula wise, I wouldn’t necessarily say they’re better than any other brand out there. Put it this way: if there’s a colour in their collection that you absolutely MUST HAVE and can’t find it anywhere else, then totally splurge. Otherwise, I wouldn’t exactly call home about these. Don’t get me wrong, they’re totally pretty, but I believe they’re on the pricier side as far as polish goes and sometimes, that just isn’t for everyone. Because if I’m going to spend over 10 bucks on a polish, it better be damn fantastic. Know what I mean? If you’re curious about Rococo Nail Apparel, find them at Murale here in Canada or online at Space NK if you’re in the good old U-S of A.
